Vision Realized.

Early on the founders of InnoWorks realized their true innovation opportunity went beyond traditional fee based consulting, and guided them toward Industrial Design entrepreneurism.

Eddie Bauer. Target Stores. InnoWorks. Early in 2004 InnoWorks was approached to revamp a hydration line of products under the Eddie Bauer brand license.

Coincidentally, InnoWorks had just wrapped an internal exploration into ‘design inspired hydration products’. Code named ‘QHy’ the program quickly evolved into a license equity partnership with the Eddie Bauer brand, when Target Stores was seeking to revitalize the category. After the license agreement negotiated by Covault was reached, the product quickly became a number 1 seller at over 910 Target Store locations, selling over $3.4 in the first year of introduction.

Not only did the design conceived by InnoWorks increase sales, but it was the first to introduce the functional ‘flip-up drinking spout’ to the category, a design that has since been adopted by every major competitor in their products. With the success of the Target program, the QHy trademarks, and the IP designs were purchased outright and have been re-branded under QuencHydration Gear, and have expanded designs for five categories under development.
